No. Crowdstack does not send a bulk email to its entire database of users simply because you have published or sponsored an event.
Our platform is built on consent and relevance. We do not treat our user base as a generic mailing list for organisers to access. Communication is targeted based on registration, social connections, or specific campaign terms.
Who receives messages about your event
Guests typically receive emails or notifications about your event only in these specific situations:
- Direct registration: A guest has registered for your event through a promoter link, your direct link, or the public event page.
- Team updates: You send an announcement or reminder specifically to people who are already on your guest list or attending the event.
- Opted-in discovery: A guest has explicitly chosen to follow your organiser profile or brand and has enabled updates for new events.
- Social connections: A guest sees that their friends are attending, provided both parties have enabled social visibility features.
Promoter campaigns
If you purchase a managed promotion campaign, Crowdstack contracts promoters as independent suppliers to share your event. Promoters use their own attributable links to drive registrations.
This process relies on the promoter's ability to reach their own networks and the organic sharing of those links. It does not involve Crowdstack sending a standalone sponsorship blast to unrelated users in our system.
Messaging capabilities depend on your workspace plan. Core and Pro plans include campaign and operational organiser messaging, while Free workspaces are limited to essential service notifications and basic one-to-one contact.
Controlling your communication
You can manage how you communicate with your audience through the event dashboard:
- Navigate to your event in the organiser app at /app/events.
- Select Guests to view your registered list.
- Use the messaging tools to send announcements or reminders strictly to these confirmed guests.
We provide the tools to engage the audience you have built, rather than interrupting people who have no connection to your event.
