Reading a campaign offer: rates, bonuses and caps

Campaign compensation structures

When an organiser invites you to a managed promotion campaign, the offer details exactly how your earnings are calculated. Crowdstack validates attendance and applies these terms to produce your verified earnings. You must accept these individual campaign engagements before receiving attributable links.

Compensation plans vary by event. Some use simple flat rates per guest, while others combine multiple reward types to encourage specific results. Review the offer carefully in your Campaigns list before accepting.

Arrival rates

The most common term is an arrival rate. This is a fixed amount paid for every guest who registers through your link and is successfully checked in at the door.

  • Verified check-ins only: Earnings are based on guests who physically arrive and are scanned in by the door team. Registrations alone do not generate payment.
  • Category rates: Advanced plans may offer different rates for different guest categories. For example, an event might pay one rate for women and another for men to help the organiser balance the room.
  • Currency: All rates are displayed in the campaign currency before you accept.

Your dashboard shows verified check-ins accumulating as evidence during the event. These figures remain "estimated" until the event enters closeout review.

Conditional fixed fees

Some campaigns include a fixed fee that pays out only if specific conditions are met. Unlike arrival rates, this is a lump sum rather than a per-guest amount.

Conditions might include:

  • Bringing a minimum number of guests.
  • Achieving a specific mix of attendee categories.
  • Completing the full event duration without drop-offs.

If the condition is not met, the fixed fee portion of the offer does not apply. The arrival rate for any guests you did bring usually still applies unless stated otherwise in the terms.

Milestone bonuses

Milestone bonuses reward high performance with extra payments when you cross defined thresholds.

For example, an offer might state:

  • USD 5 per guest for the first 20 guests.
  • A USD 50 bonus if you bring more than 30 guests.

Bonuses are additive. If you hit the milestone, you receive your standard arrival earnings plus the bonus amount. These thresholds are immutable once the campaign starts; they cannot be changed to favour or penalise specific promoters after the fact.

Payment caps

A payment cap sets the maximum total amount payable for a specific engagement. This protects the organiser from unlimited liability if attendance exceeds expectations dramatically.

  • How it works: If your calculated earnings (rates + bonuses + fees) exceed the cap, your payment is reduced to the cap amount.
  • Visibility: Caps are clearly stated in the campaign terms before you accept.
  • Fairness: Caps apply to the total engagement value. They do not retroactively change the per-guest rate for the guests already counted within the limit.

Reviewing and accepting terms

You can view full campaign terms in the Campaigns section of your promoter dashboard. Each engagement displays:

  • The pricing structure (rates, fees, bonuses).
  • Any applicable caps.
  • The event details and check-in window.

Once you accept, the terms are snapshot and cannot be altered. You will then receive your unique attributable links to share with guests. After the event ends, the system moves your earnings through a review process where Crowdstack and the organiser verify the attendance data against these agreed terms before approving your invoice.
